COOLING SYSTEM CONCERN: VISIBLE COOLANT DRIPS
-Multiple codes stored in various modules. -All monitors have run. -Leak noted from thermostat housing area. -Coolant type is suspect (green color). -Verified fans are functional. -Did not detect hydrocarbons in cooling system at this time. —— Recommended repair: -Replace thermostat and gasket (May need the housing replaced). -Noted: Must remove exhaust to gain access to thermostat. -Flush cooling system with work: Incorrect coolant currently in vehicle (is green, should be blue). -Retest cooling system for additional faults. —– -Upon removal of the leaking coolant housing we found the catalog to mislabel this component. It is a water outlet rather than a thermostat housing. -Resealed water outlet housing, retested for additional cooling system faults: None detected. -No further related recommendations: Cooling system concern has been resolved.

PROCEED WITH OIL CHANGE
-BRAKES STILL NOISY AFTER BRAKES REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. -THE REPAIR SHOP THEN PAID FOR CARR SUBARU TO INVESTIGATE BRAKES. THEY FOUND THE FRONT PADS INSTALLED BACKWARDS. THE DEALER THEN PROPERLY INSTALLED PADS. BRAKES STILL NOISY. -NOW: OTHER SHOP SAYS "NO WARRANTY REMAINS. BRAKES ARE JUST NOISY"
-Able to make noise while backing up when first moving car at under 1mph. Noise may be normal. No safety problems found during inspection. –Noise sounds to be coming from front brakes. -We can try new front brake pads and rotors to see if a different composite eliminates and or changes noise (we cannot guarantee the noise will be eliminated by replacement of brakes).
Brake inspection – Remove and reinstall four wheels and rear brake drums to inspect brake condition. Inspect entire system for leaks. Lining remaining is: Front (9mm) Rear (7mm)

-Load tested battery: Passed, 340 amp output at 9volt load. -Tested for draws: Passed, no draws present. -Tested alternator: Failed, no output. -Verified battery connection at alternator: Okay. -Verified primary wires at alternator: Okay. —– -Recommend replacement of alternator, continue testing if needed: Alternator has no output. —- Post repair notes: -Alternator test: Passed, 14volts, 100+ amps, diodes pass. -No additional charging system issues found post repair.

Declined cooling system drain and fill: Found a major brake fluid leak.
Right front brake caliper has a major fluid leak at brake hose attachment point. Bolt cannot be tightened as the threads for caliper hose are bad (bolt just spins). Brake fluid has contaminated brake pads on the right front side. —- Recommend replacement of front brake pads, rotors and calipers.
