- -TECHNICIAN CONFIRMED SEVERE MISFIRE. -OBSERVED BOTH BATTERY CABLE ENDS TO BE LOOSE: TIGHTENED: BATTERY DISCHARGED AT ARRIVAL (WAS AT 6V). -FAULT P0171 STORED, NOT ALL READINESS MONITORS RAN AT ARRIVAL. -NO OIL ON DIPSTICK: ADDED 2QTS OF 0W20. -DATA PIDS SHOW NO MISFIRES. -GDI FUEL PRESSURE READS WITHIN SPEC. -SPARK PLUGS 1-3 BADLY OIL SOAKED. -ALL SPARK PLUGS VERY WORN. -PERFORMED COMPRESSION TEST: PASSED, ALL CYLINDERS WITHIN SPEC. -RECOMMEND: -REPLACE VALVE COVER GASKET TO ADDRESS OIL INTRUSION. -REPLACE ALL SPARK PLUGS: VERY WORN AND OIL SOAKED. -REPLACE ALL IGNITION COILS FOR PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE: IGNITION COILS ARE AFTERMARKET. -NOTED: CATALYTIC CONVERTER MAY HAVE BEEN DEGRADED BY OPERATING WITH A MISFIRE. ——- -POST REPAIR, NO FAULTS RETURNED. -CAT AND EVAP MONITORS STILL UNREADY.
