- Technician verified concern, found codes p0300 and p0304 Cylinder 4 misfire detected and random multiple cylinder misfire detected. Technician checked cylinders and found rodent damage to wires at cylinder 4 fuel injector and camshaft sensor for exhaust side bank 2. —————————————— Recommend starting with Pigtail repair wire for cylinder 4 fuel injector and pigtail wire repair camshaft sensor and then continue testing There may be damage to ECM and/or other rodent/ wiring damage
- CLEAN RODENT DEBRIS FROM ENGINE BAY
- REPAIR CAMSHAFT SENSOR PIGTAIL
- REPAIR FUEL INJECTOR CYL 4 PIGTAIL
- wiring damage repaired, confirmed power no other damage found between pig tail and harness may have internal short at the module check engine light still present verified power to injector. was not receiving signal from PCM to injector for number 4 ———————————————- will need to get to ECM for continued testing
- ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE – Remove & Replace – ECM –
- -verified resistance of injector is within specification -verified continuity from injector to ECM -once at ECM we found ECM was not sending a signal on the number 4 control wire -ecm replacement will be needed
- REPROGRAM ECM
- -PERMANENT CODE STORED FOR VIN REGISTRATION -SHOULD SELF DELETE AFTER A FEW TEST/ DRIVE CYCLES -NO ADDITIONAL CODES PRESENT -TEST DRIVE COMPLETE -CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS OFF -TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IS OFF
